They are voting us into slavery.

I don’t know what else you would call it. Nancy Pelosi’s version of HR3200, which is called HR3962, would essentially, make slaves of us all.

Sounds dramatic, I know, but consider that never in the history of American law-making has the federal government ever mandated the purchase of anything. Until now.

Passage of this bill will force every American to buy health insurance. For most of us reading this, the money that we use to “buy” something comes from our labor – OUR labor, not someone else’s. We trade the work product of our muscles or intellect for money, in a free exchange with our employer or employees. If the federal government forces you to buy something, it is compelling you to wake up and go to work some morning not to earn money for your own purposes, but to satisfy a bureaucrat’s vision of what he thinks is in the best interest of you and the nation.

Of course, you can choose not to make the purchase and pay a fine of 2.5% of your total income. Further, you can choose not to pay the fine. I don’t need to carry this exercise to its final conclusion, which I’m sure you have realized means, ultimately, being taken at the point of a gun to trial and eventual incarceration. Your crime? Failure to turn over your property - the sweat of your brow - to a government bureaucrat.

Please read the rest of the essay at: www.teapartysi.com Along with the essay are important phone numbers you can use to contact Congressman McMahon. Even though you may already have done so recently, I urge you not to let up - we may still be able to stop this madness.

Yours in Liberty,

Frank

KUHN PICKS UP ENDORSEMENT OF THE STATEN ISLAND RIGHT-TO-LIFE

STATEN ISLAND, NY - Retired Air Force Veteran Timothy Kuhn, the GOP candidate for the North Shore City Council seat, is getting noticed by many including the Staten Island Right-to-Life Party.

“I am honored to be endorsed by this group whose values mean so much to me,” said Mr. Kuhn.

Mr. Kuhn attributes his strict fiscal conservativism and strong family values, and the upholding of traditional marriage to his Irish-British Mother and German Immigrant Father’s upbringing. He has supported Right-To-Life principles for almost four decades.

“Mr. Kuhn meets the Right To Life criteria par excellence,” said Ms. Marietta Canning, Chairwoman of the S.I. Right-to-Life party.

“I believe that life starts at conception and only God has the right to take that away,” said Mr. Kuhn.

Mr. Kuhn believes that where any pregnancy is concerned, the rights of both mother and baby must be considered. He goes on to state “Abortion does not consider the rights of the child to live, and even if the possibility of a handicap exists, who are we to decide that a child should not have the chance to contribute to society, even if it only means the saying of relevant prayers.” Mr. Kuhn also feels that there are more than enough agencies and organizations willing to adopt unwanted children, should that be the mother’s choice.

Issues and Positions
· Finally complete the North Shore rail line and stop the endless studies that go nowhere
· Reduce or eliminate all EZ Pass tolls on the Verrazano Bridge for Staten Island residents.
· Provide funding for better access to Hospital care through working with Richmond University Hospital, not to add on another wing, but to make use of the numerous unoccupied buildings in the various neighborhoods throughout the North Shore to bring the doctors to the people, rather than bring the people to the doctors for routine care and checkups, and provide funding to hire more doctors
· Keep our taxes low and reduce the size of government and government red tape and bureaucracy by balancing our budget to our current tax revenues by eliminating unnecessary or excessive programs and services, and then applying an equal cut across the board for all government services except life-saving medical care, care for the indigent elderly, police and fire protection services.
· Reform all welfare programs toward workfare programs, using recipients to fill government positions or subsidizing them to work in local businesses who need help but can’t afford to pay for additional employees
· Subsidize local businesses to keep employees working rather than laying them off and sending them home on unemployment. It will keep people working and boost their sense of worth, rather than making them feel unnecessary and invaluable
· Bring back term limits for ALL NY City elected positions and ensure that they can ONLY be changed by a vote of the people, not by any elected official
